Storage of self-adhesive labels

Manufacturer's Recommendation

This manufacturer's recommendation describes the requirements for the proper storage of self-adhesive labels in order to ensure their processability, adhesive performance, and print quality until use. This recommendation applies to all self-adhesive labels stored within the company, whether supplied on rolls or sheets, regardless of the material (paper, film, thermal, or thermal transfer labels).

Storage Conditions:

  • Recommended storage temperature: 20°C to 25°C.
  • Avoid short-term temperature fluctuations.
  • Do not store in the immediate vicinity of heaters, air-conditioning units, or other heat sources.
  • Recommended relative humidity: 40% to 50%.
  • Avoid direct exposure to sunlight.
  • Store in closed cartons or in areas protected from light.
  • Always store rolls in their original packaging.
  • Store rolls upright on their end faces.
  • Do not place heavy objects on top of rolls.
  • Prevent damage to the edges of the rolls.
  • Apply the FIFO (First In – First Out) principle.
  • BEAR IN MIND: Labels wound with the adhesive side facing inward have limited storage stability. Extended storage may affect the adhesive strength.
